School-based National Education Film Appreciation Event – “My People, My Country”

To deepen students’ understanding of our nation’s development and foster love for the country and Hong Kong, our school held a school-based National Education Film Appreciation Event on 26 June 2026. Student Ambassadors for the Constitution and the Basic Law, together with all Secondary 2 students, went to THE SOUTHSIDE Cinema in Wong Chuk Hang to watch the 70th National Day tribute film – “My People, My Country”.

The film presents seven short stories that capture pivotal moments in the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China – from the founding ceremony and the atomic bomb test, to the handover of Hong Kong and the Beijing Olympics. It gave our students a profound sense of how individual destinies are closely intertwined with the nation’s progress. Throughout the screening, the students watched with full attention and deep engagement.

Before the event, the Ambassadors helped gather information, produced display boards, and introduced the film to the whole school during the morning assembly. On the day of the screening, they served as emcees, assisted with ushering, and later led a sharing session to guide their fellow students in expressing their reflections.

This activity not only enhanced students’ knowledge of our country, but also strengthened their sense of national identity. We hope our students will continue to actively participate in national education activities, be responsible and collaborative students, and become a new generation that cares for the nation and loves Hong Kong.
