The Chinese Club is dedicated to enhancing students' interest in and appreciation of the Chinese language, aiming to deepen their linguistic proficiency while fostering a genuine enjoyment of its cultural richness. While "Chinese" may often be perceived by students as dull or rigid. In fact, the beauty of the Chinese language and culture far surpasses such stereotypes. Through diverse and engaging activities, we bring Chinese to life by integrating it with daily experiences, allowing students to discover its inherent charm. 

 

Activities:

  • "National Treasure Panda" Aroma Stone Workshop: A hands-on session where students learn to craft panda-shaped aroma stones under expert guidance. 
  • Lunar New Year Calligraphy: A festive midday event where students write traditional spring couplets (fai chun) to convey blessings for themselves, family, and friends. 
  • Traditional Chinese Puzzles: Interactive games like the *Luban Lock and Huarong Dao, blending cultural heritage with intellectual challenges. 
  • Sugar Painting Workshop: Students explore this ancient folk art, designing and creating their own edible artworks under the instruction of a skilled artisan. 
  • Bookstore Excursion: A collaboration with the Reading Club to visit local bookstores, encouraging students to select and enjoy literature firsthand. 

Lacquer Fan Crafting: Led by society executives, students learn the traditional techniques of Chinese lacquer fan-making and design their own unique fans.
