Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors

 

Aims of Basic Law Ambassador Training Scheme

  • To provide students with diversified life-wide learning and training activities;
  • To deepen students’ understanding of the Constitution and the Basic Law, including the important concepts of the constitutional status of the HKSAR, the characteristics of the political structure, the HKSAR being an inalienable part of our country, as well as “one country, two systems”;
  • To encourage students to pay attention to the affairs of our country and Hong Kong actively; and
  • To develop students’ leadership skills, widen their horizons as well as nurture them become citizens who are able and virtuous, with a sense of responsibility and love for the country and the city.

 

Target Students

  • Secondary 1 to 4;
  • Nominated students should have good conduct and be interested in enriching their knowledge of and promoting the Constitution and the Basic Law;

 

Responsibility of Basic Law Ambassadors

  • To participate in the training activities of the Ambassadors Scheme and to behave well with proper conduct and discipline;
  • To participate in the events as invited by the EDB, such as assisting in the “Territory-wide Inter-school Constitution and Basic Law Competition” by serving as volunteers, attending the focus group meetings;
  • To demonstrate ambassadors’ leadership by assisting schools in promoting Constitution and Basic Law education, organising and leading school-based Constitution and Basic Law activities (e.g. assisting teachers in drafting questions for the school-based Constitution and Basic Law Competition, hosting the competition, joining the sharing session after the flag raising ceremony).
